Be Ready for your Tampa Roof Replacement

Replacing your Tampa roof is not a small undertaking; however, when you follow these tips it will help your roof replacement go smoothly for you and your family.

Know what to Expect from your Roofer

In order to determine what will happen, ask your roofer questions.

  • How long do you expect the job to last?
  • Will you be putting a dumpster in my driveway?
  • Will you be covering the trees and shrubs?
  • How will you protect my flowers, garden and grass?
  • Will you be putting a port-a-potty on my property?
  • Do I need to take down pictures and nick-nacks inside the house?
  • How many vehicles will there be in front of my home?

All of these questions will help you be more prepared for when the roofers arrive to start working.

When the Work Begins

When the workers start, it is important to know that it will be loud and messy. Your roofers will be working on the roof with hammers early in the morning until the end of the day. If you can be somewhere else while they are working, it may be easier on your ears.

If you have pets, be sure to have them inside or a safe distance from the home while the roofers are working. It is a good idea to move all patio furniture, barbeque grills, ornamental planters and yard items away from the house to avoid damage. While the roofers are working, the old materials will be thrown off the house into the dumpster and there will be debris all around the outside of your home.

It is best to move all cars and other vehicles out of the driveway and down the street a bit so there is no chance of damage from debris.

After the Roof is Installed

Once the roof has been installed, your roofing contractor will go around the house to inspect and pick up debris and nails. Touch base with your contractor if you have any questions or concerns.
